From my Stash

Lately I've been making a real effort to use up some of my older papers. I think these photos of my son in the ER fit perfectly with the retired Pemberly papers.

I love how nicely it coordinates and the simplicity of the layout.  This layout was inspired from Pinterest.  You can find the original post on my board here.

Do you have a huge stash or do you use up whatever you buy?

Eclectic Layout

Typically I post things that I've made with Close to my Heart products since I'm a consultant and want to promote the products I sell and love.  Like anyone though, there is always other products that I like, buy and use.  This layout is an example of that.  It includes products from quite a variety of companies.

I started with a pattern from the CTMH Make it from your Heart V2 pattern 18.  From that I looked through all of my paper packs to see what I could use that matched the photos.  Since they are all in a series I wanted to do my best to have the papers coordinate as best as I could.  Each paper is from a different manufacturer which is a huge departure for me.  The main reason that I love CTMH is because everything coordinates so well together but this time I just couldn't find the right CTMH B&T for my pictures.

I used embellishments from many different places and am really happy with how this turned out.

What do you think?  Do you always work with kits or do you just pull items together from wherever?

Dream Pop Part 3

Welcome to my final post of the Dream Pop series.  I hope you are enjoying these layouts.  They were a lot of fun to put together and hopefully I will be able to find some photos that will fit them.

This layout has a very different feel from the ones in the previous posts.  It definitely is a more masculine feel and more orange than pink this time.

I had this embellishment pack that I picked up somewhere and I really like how it came together.

My last layout is the most masculine of all.  I had the Home cut out in with my scraps because I had used those letters for some other project.  Since I had it I figured I might as well use it so I made it into the title.

Again, I used the Artfully Sent cartridge to create a pocket for the journalling card.

I used up some old embellishments from various places.

I would love to know if you have been following along with this series of posts and if you would like to see more series.  It's fun for me to do it this way and I want to know what you think.

Dream Pop Part 2

Welcome to part 2 of my Dream Pop series.  I am excited to share all the great layouts that I made with just this one paper pack.

I found the inspiration for this layout here.  I really like the colour combination of this one.  I think I might actually be able to find pictures that would suit this one.

I'm not sure if you noticed or not but I actually used this same title on one of the layouts in part one of the Dream Pop posts.  I took two of the layouts on a crop to finish embellishing them and forgot that I had already used this title.  It's so cute and kind of generic so I picked it twice!!

This layout just came together by trying to match up some of the papers that were left.  Sorry, for some reason this picture didn't come out very clear.

I used more pink glitter gems on this layout.  I'm really starting to use the Artfully Sent cartridge for  layouts.  These cards are great for titles and embellishments.

Stay tuned for the final post of my Dream Pop series.  Coming soon...

BOGO offer

Wondering about the February special from Close to my Heart? Well, wonder no more! I am delighted that February means a BOGO on our new and gorgeous albums! It doesn’t matter the colour or style- all our gorgeous books are buy one get one for half price!

What is so great about our albums? Read on…

  • albums protect and display your beautiful artwork
  • our albums come in three colours/patterns: Lagoon Chevron, Ruby floral and black
  • all colours and patterns are available in post-bound and D-ring (more on those in a minute)
  • fabric covers are coated to allow for durability and they can easily be wiped clean (a huge perk if you have little hands looking through your albums)
  • album structure has been reinforced for durability (we have NEVER had an album as strong as these)
  • fits our memory protectors perfectly (and others will fit in them as well)
  • can fit 25-50 pages in a book depending on how thick your layouts are
So do I go D-ring or Post-Bound?
There is no right or wrong to these styles, it is just a matter of preference. Up until recently I've always used post-bound albums but since we introduced D-ring I find myself switching loving them (and since I am in and out of my books a lot the D-ring works better for my style).
  • D-Ring: easily insert pages, 1 1/2inch ring is very strong and will hold pages in tightly, works great with memory protectors with a raised seam (like those that work with Picture my Life)
  • Post-Bound: combined with our signature memory protectors with lay-flat seams your pages will sit without a gap, pages are extremely secure once in, posts unscrew easily, magnet closure flap over the posts conceals the albums inner workings!
